I did have a great article on this but I've lost the link.
It is generally lovely, sensitive doglets that do it. IT isn't a problem and he's fine doing it...yes it's like a comfort thing, I had a dog who sucked himself to sleep on a giant cuddly strawberry. Just enjoy it..I think it's sweet.

My youngest lad Isaac does this........

At some point every day he settles down for a good old sook

I even take his blanket to rallies. One end of the stake out is Isaac sooking his blankey other end has Darcy squeezed into a fluffy whippet bed.............the rugged Siberian Husky

I have read a similar article to Ramble........Isaac is a sweet sensitive boy..........with hint of 'crazy dude'

Take good care.

Seoniad.

Meg does this, especially when she's tired, in fact she has had, had a large stuffed fish in her mouth on and off since she came back from beating on saturday, she clamps it between her two front paws and sucks away

Had one dog who did this with his toy polar bear all his life. All my others have lost the ability to suck by 6 months.

Kismet likes to suck your thumb or fingers... Bizarre girl that she is... When I first got her, she liked nothing more than to fall asleep pudding your hand and sucking your thumb... Twas adorable

She also sucks at her favourite soft toy..... Not sure I would describe her as sensitive though

Bandit does this more than Millie.

His eyes also roll in ecstasy too.

I always liken it to a baby sucking on a dummy or comforter
