Pepper - 6 month old Staffie in Cardiff

Pepper is a 6 month old old Staffy cross and is currently on foster in Cardiff.

The Pepper fact file
Dog status: Loves other dogs and would love some canine company in his new home
Cat status: Good with confident cats but is excitable
Child status: Good but can be boisterous and jump up. Could be rehomed with dog savvy children over 5 years old
House training: 99%, very odd accident as he has settled in to foster home
Home alone: Can be left crated for short periods
Basic training: Knows sit but will need further training as so young.

Pepper is a lovely, friendly, enthusiastic ball of fun. He came to us as a stray which means we have no history before he went in to foster care. We do not know what he is crossed with or his exact age but he is around 6 months and has a smile to die for.

Pepper adores other dogs and loves to play. He would love a home with canine company but could be rehomed as an only dog with pals to meet out and about and someone there during the day.

He is in foster with 5 cats and is fine with them but he will chase in play so would be better with dog savvy cats and owners who confident in introducing dogs and cats.

Pepper is very nearly housetrained as he has only had a few accidents whilst settling in to foster. He has been left for short periods (although he has always had doggy company) but needs to be crated as he will otherwise find things to chew on. He couldn’t at this time be rehomed with full time workers even with a break in the day.

As he is still a pup he does chew.....sometimes he will chew his own toys however, temptation is never far away from the wandering eyes of a young pup! Shoes and paper seem to be a favourite and having Pepper in your life could be the answer to tidying up! He is an intelligent lad and has quickly learnt paw and sit and would benefit from training classes. He will require further training walking to heel as he does pull but he is very good on the way home once he has had a good run so the potential is there.

Pepper is excellent with people and very affectionate and loving. He is still very puppy like and does sometimes mouth when excited or over tired. His foster family are working on his bite inhibition and this will need to continue in his new home. Pepper could be rehomed with dog savvy children over the age of 5 years.

He travels ok in the car and is great at the vets. He doesn’t really like the other dogs sticking their noses in his bowl but isn’t food or toy possessive.

Pepper would love someone around for most of the day as he loves cuddles and company. He will need further training but that smile is infective and with some simple training, time and patience you could smile just like him!

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. We have a suggested minimum donation of £160.
