A long overdue update!

Hi guys sorry havent been on line for abit work gets in the way of my life but thought id update you on my lupo pup, for those of you who remember just before christmas i took on a 5wk old husky x gsd pup who was brought into my work to be putto sleep cos he is blind(he had been sold to his owner 1wk before and when they brought him in for a check up we told them he was blind , they went home and brought him back the next day to be put to sleep) well i was taking him to see an eye specialist to see if anything could be done and after having him in my home for 6wks the specialist stunned me by saying he was totally blind and nothing could be done becauae if you met him you wouldnt know he was blind, he chases balls, he can also chase and catch bubbles ! Well he is now nearly 6mths old he is huge he is as big as my male gsd and weighs 27kgs but is a lean boy, he is staying with me which means i am now upto 7dogs ! Its not all been plane sailing but i am working through his husky temperment and special needs but things are great at the moment!!

Glad you found him, i thought when you told us about him at first that he would be totally blind, but because he's been blind all his life, he knows no different and just gets on with it. Sounds happy and settled with you

Yes the cataracts have shrunk and gone now but the optic nerve is to badly damaged but apart from the nystagmus you wouldnt know he is blind infact everybody at the specialist vets was stunned when they were told, he is hard work but thats more to do with being handreared and a husky then being blind but he is stunning to look at !!!

I'm so glad its all working our with him, well done for giving him a chance! Shame on the breeders who sold him without prior warning (they would have surely suspected!) and shame on the owners for wanting him put to sleep so quickly.
It sounds like he has a great life with you and your pack!

I'm also guilty of lack of updates on here, I find life is just crazy at the moment, but it's nice to catch up from time to time and chat with like minded people.

What a fantastic person you must be I so much admire what you have done and I'm sure that he will become a loyal and devoted member of your pack.

I am a great believer in the 80 / 20 rule it applies to many things, in this case 80% of humans are c**p and 20% are good, you must definately be in the 20% good luck to you and everything you do.

P.S. Don't suppose you could manage a photo of him sometime could you

Thank you - apparentley his mother needed a caesarian then killed some of the pups so the breeder handreared but sold early cos they couldnt cope when his owner rung them to say he was blind they refused to speak to him and put the phone down !
