My son has just asked why they enjoy it so much.I had never thought about it before so just wondered what your theories are?

my JRT loves fetch but she gets 'wired' and intense when paying so we don't do it for very long so she doesn't go OTT. She does seem to become obsessive when doing it though she's laid back the rest of the time. Not sure why she loves it so much, but she does! All the others think it's a stoopid game though

Interesting. The dogs I have known with the higest prey drive have little interest in this game.

My JRT is from working stock but has poor prey drive, but she loves fetch. She enjoys chase but has no desire to kill prey (she has caught a couple of injured birds, and then not had a clue what to do with them and released them unharmed, or as unharmed as they were when she found them )
