Steady light collars for the dark

Hi all,

Looking to buy light up collars for the dogs for the winter, preferrably ones that have a steady light and are lit up all round the collar. I don't want to spend a small fortune on them.

Do any of you have them? Which ones would you buy?

I've looked on ebay and there are loads!

Thanks.

Well i don't know about lit up around the collar but i swear by the b'seen tag (you can buy it - on sale at the mo from petplanet - pm me if you want a link). It is a reflective rectangle that clips onto a collar with a little steady light that can be switched on. I hate the blinking ones - really distracting but with this i can see the dogs from yards away (as can anyone else!)

I've bought 2 sets from a place on ebay - one for my dogs and ones for my brother (or should I say, his dog ).

They were pretty cheap but work really well - as long as the dog's coat is fairly short (you should be ok with your two). I've had them 2 winters and the batteries have not needed replacing yet.

They have the option of being on full time or flashing (I never use the flashing).

It was some time ago that I bought them, so not sure whether I'll still have the records of which ebay company it was, but I will have a look for you.

These are such fun! Mine have a flashy mode and a `chase` sequence as well, so you can have your own disco in the dark. It looks so funny when these moving lights appear out of the dark.

Having tried almost every other product on the market with little success, I finally found Puplights (http://www.dogestore.co.uk/products.asp?cat=25) and they are by far the best thing we have used. They are bright enough to make the dog seen from almost all angles and create good visibility for the walker if the dog is on lead and visible on very long coated dogs.

glow sticks that can be attached to each other are good too, you can buy about 25 for about £1 out of the pound stores and so on, they only do one walk but at £1 for 25 its not heart breaking.

Thanks Hali. These are perfect and just the sort of thing I was looking for! I've ordered two. A different colour for each of the dogs.

I also have a couple of the reflective dog tags for them with a wee orange light on each, which I'll also use. Got them free somewhere, I think, says Burns on them.

Thank you all. Lots of helpful suggestions. Much appreciated.

I have one of these for Teagan:

I had the lights that you can attach, but found they just fell under her neck when the lead wasn't attached to the collar.

This is the design I have (obviously brighter and coloured in the dark!)
