Milo ~ Quiet Boy but Such a Stunner! – 2yo Fawn Greyhound

MILO

Milo is a 2 year old ex-racing greyhound boy and he is an absolute stunner! He is a medium sized boy with a rich fawn coat that is beautifully soft and sleek. He has such a kind, soft expression and is a real elegant boy. Whoever adopts him is sure going to attract a lot of attention!

Milo came to us with his brother Casper, who is also looking for his forever sofa. In an ideal world we would truly love to home these hounds together, and they certainly make a breathtaking pair, but we will home them separately if needed.

Milo is a bit quieter than his brother Casper, but is no less affectionate. He likes to stand back and observe things before joining in, but when he knows you he is such a big soft sweetheart. With a bit of work on his confidence, Milo has the potential to blossom into a beautifully self assured young dog.

Milo is very good with our other dogs and never wants any trouble. He enjoys being around other dogs and we feel he would be best going to a home with another dog (or with his brother Casper) so that he can continue to gain confidence from their presence. He has not been tested yet with smaller dogs or cats, but these can be carried out prior to adoption if required.

We hope to get Milo in to a foster home very soon so that he can start to come out of his shell a wee bit. New owners will need to be a bit understanding at the start and give him time to learn the house rules. It generally takes greyhounds 10-14 days to start to settle into a home, and really all they need is time and patience.

Like most greyhounds, Milo is a total couch potato and does not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area once or twice a week. He walks like a dream on the lead, and also travels very good in the car.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

Milo is currently being kennelled in Ireland and will be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe when a suitable permanent or foster home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up, and if you are in the UK and wish to meet before adopting him, he will be fostered in the Norfolk area.

Milo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting or short-term fostering Milo, please email me for our adoption application form and information pack. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs. Thanks!
