Is Peanut Butter Okay For Dogs?

I just started giving my dog a new brand of chewable multi-vitamin and
chewable glucosamine. Even though they are flavored and dogs are
supposed to enjoy eating them, she doesn't like them.

I thought maybe if I put peanut butter on them, she might eat them.
However, I'm not sure if it's okay to feed dogs peanut butter.

Does anyone have advice?

Thanks.

Peanut butter is fine for dogs, but not too much, a little bit to help a tablet go down is fine but spoonfuls of the stuff is not healthy. be careful though as peanut butter can be quite dry.

Have you tried putting the tablets in meat (ham, chicken, sausage) or cheese?

I found putting a tablet inside a small spoonful of philidelphia cream cheese went down a treat with my dog.

My nan used to hide her dogs daily tablets inside a small piece of milky way bar. Yes i know chocolate is bad for dogs but they never had a problem with it and all of her dogs have lived to a ripe old age! However just to be safe cheese/ peanut butter etc is probably better!

Yes it should be OK, I`ve used it in the past to coat unpleasant pils, I didn`t use a lot tho its very fattening quite sticky/messy tho my lot love it

I tend to use cheese now or pate, less messier

Thanks for your responses everyone. I haven't tried to put anything on
the tablets yet. I just tried to give them to her for the first time last
night and she turned her nose up at them.

Actually, right now there is something wrong with her. She threw up
a couple of times last night and she hasn't eaten. Right now I'm at my
job, but I'm leaving early to take her to the vet. I'm a little nervous.
This is my best friend and I hate it when there is something wrong with
her.

Thanks Kristina. I'm praying that it's nothing serious and that it's just
from something she ate on one of our walks. She is famous for eating
things off sidewalks and lawns.

Her nose is cold and wet, although someone once told me that that
really doesn't mean anything. Dogs can be sick and still have a cold,
wet nose.
