Your favourite books

After answering nero's thread got me thinking if you could take 5 books on a desert Island what would they be and why

Lord of the rings (I know there;as three but my thread so can cheat

The Promise by daniella Steel (the first "grown" up book I remember reading and must have read it 50 times since)

Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix

Agatha Christie (any to be honest started my life long love of detective novels)

Great Expectations - Charles Dickins read this for olevel english lit, and re read it loads of times. I've got the complete set of Dickins but this is my favourite

Ihave just finished a book called child hood interrupted , and have to say its the best book i have read for a long time , the other one was called an angel saved my life it was fascinating .
My favorite is usually true crime books .xxdk

Terry Pratchett and I have to say I loved the De Vinci code (book not film) and some other religous and crime fighting books much to my surprise. I think really I just love a good read!

Five books, that's really hard, there are so many that I have really enjoyed, let's give it a go.....

1. Crosstitch by Diana Gabaldon
2. The Seventh Scroll by Wilbur Smith
3. Blackwood Farm by Anne Rice
4. Robinson Crusoe - might get some tips on island living!
5. The Quest by Wilbur Smith - got to have something that I haven't read yet.

It's not easy finding just five books, as you think of one another pops up and as I generally read series of books, like the Crosstitch series, one book then becomes three or four!!

Famous Five books (sorry but still a good read)!
Juliette de Baircly Levy book on dog rearing
The Bible, New Living Translation, lots of good ideas in it for life, plus murders love stories and poetry.
