Please read this on killing wolves

I do not know if this the right fourm for this but i have to share this with you. I recived an email from a friend who lives in Alaska the Govenor has authoried the Alaska Bord of Game to allow up to 900 wolves to killed by aerial gunning where they will run down in the deep snow and then kill them from airplanes when they are too fatigued to go on. 147 wolves were killed this way last year. the wolf has been here long before us in the US and elsewhere and if we keep killing them our children and there childern will know them by photos in books.

That is so terrible. I absolutely despise people who kill wolves just for game. They are not wild animals to be hunted for their furs! The Indians loved and respected the wolf, they didn't kill them just because they were "dangerous." If any Indians did kill a wolf, it was probably for a darn good reason.

Why is the government killing these wolves in Alaska? Are they threatening the livestock or something? Are they killing them to sell their furs?

I love wolves so much, second to the Siberian husky, of course. It tears me up inside to hear of such terrible happenings. A wolf is an ancient, mysterious spirit, they should be left alone, especially if there is no real concern over livestock or children. What an absolutel shame.

Jeanette, they ae going to be killed because people feel threatened about them!!! Wolves are my second favorite animal, next to the dog. I've joined protests, I've signed all the petitions I can, and I donate money, but you can't do much more

This is so sad and disgusting .

Can us Dogwebbers do anything about it?

Here are 3 sites that I found with more information regarding the wolf culling. The second site is a petition if you would like to sign it. I have also attached an address to the Governor of Alaska if anyone would want to send him a letter. This is the first I've heard of this but now that I have I will spread the word.
