No, never. All it would do is produce a dog who looked like mine but it wouldn't reproduce their personality which is what I love my dogs for at the end of the day.

It's difficult enough when you have taken on a new dog after the loss of another not to compare them but to have one that looked so similar to it would make this task even more difficult.

There was a thread on here about this subject a little while back. With lots of views expressed. I personally wouldn't go for it no.

Never. Pereg is who she is because of what she is, not what she looks like. And I love her because of what she is, not what she looks like.

No I find the whole concept too weird for words. When I lost Syd in the summer due to bone cancer I would have given anything for it not to be so, but cloning him wouldn't have helped. He was who he was, a comical b*gger full of character and full of life. He was my ideal dog but a clone would no doubt look like him. as would most well bred brown Dobermanns, it just wouldn't be him. Far easier and preferable to start out with a clean slate of a puppy and allow that puppy to grow and develop into a unique dog all of his own character, who knows he might turn out the same or completely different but he would be himself.

I was devastated when M'boi my lovely Shar-Pei died suddenly just over 18 months ago and because I love the breed so much I was determined to have another but decided on a different colour so as not to remind me or make comparisons with M'boi.

I've had Georgina now for 8 weeks and like M'boi she has some characteristics which are typically Shar-Pei but in other respects she's completely different. Even if I had £63,000 to spend, much as I loved and miss my late girl, I'd never dream of cloning her because I'd miss all the pleasure of seeing Georgie's personality develop in her own unique way.

No. I love the individuality that every dog has.

If it was a perfect clone... and I could afford it, I think I might (although obviously it's too late for me now)
