my lurcher pup will not retrive a rabbit to hand but will with a ball what can i do so she will bring it back?

Will she bring the rabbit back at all? If she does - and drops it at your feet - just hold out for the 'to hand' as you probably did when she brought you the ball back.

If she doesn't bring the rabbit back it is probably down to motivation. Presumably when she gives you the ball, you throw it for another game of 'fetch'. What happens when she brings a rabbit (pretty high grade resource) back to you? ie what is in it for her?
