I'd love a parrot. They are such intelligent animals. My OH's mother has a cockatoo and it is a nightmare though LOL hasn't had the proper training I guess - bit of a brat

i have love birds but they was never tamed to old when i got them.
i wanted a parrot i could play with intereact with etc and become a member of our family group like the dogs.
my sister breeds budgies and cockatiel they hand rasied 1 cockatiel so it just showed me the real pleasure and bond you can have with them.
plus it helped get me over my fear of handling birds, my kids love things they can interact with esp caitlin with lucky.mark (oh) is ok with them and would be happy with another 1.
so i said i wanted a parrot/macaw etc but though it might be better for us with a parrot as i am still learning etc.
but who knows maybe when the love birds go i might be able to get my macaw or cockatoo. but it will be a while off yet as they are around 6/8 yrs old at the moment.
every time i go out its a treat for the hounds so i guess it will be the same for the parrot....but the dogs expect it now....lol they don't say hello to me its what you got!
which brings me to how do i introduce the dogs to the parrot in a controlled way so none of them get hurt?
i will keep them out to start with so it has chance to trust us etc then its getting them to mix without any of them getting hurt....that will be fun.
