WELLS NEXT THE SEA, can anyone recommend some good walks??

I'm going on holiday to Wells Next The Sea in a couple of weeks.

I have a self catering cottage in the town, so the pooches are coming for a week away too!

Can anyone give me the heads up on some nice places to take them in the area??

Thanks
Gail (& hounds)

I know you can take them on the beach at wells, its a good 1 1/2 mile walk to get there. No cafe open this time of year down by the beach so take a flask.

Other than that take a look at the norfolk web site.

There's a lovely walk at Thornham, which is up the road from there, isn't it? You can park down past a pub by some boats and it goes all over the sand dunes through a place renowned for lovely birds (best keep the dog on the lead there) to a remote beach. It used to be relatively empty as there were no ice-cream vans or anything but that was a while back.

Just thought of another one - not sure if dogs can still go on the beach but it's an area opposite Holkham Hall - you can park up and go through the woods to the beach BUT beware there is a naturist part of Holkham Beach; you might be in for a shock if you stumble upon it without realising ... as I did

I love Wells next the Sea - theres a lovely walk through the pine woods and miles of sandy beach - who needs to go anywhere else! The dogs love it - then a stroll down the harbour to the pub or chip shop!

Dogs aren't allowed off lead on the first bit of beach in the summer - but I expect this time of the year its ok - otherwise you have to keep them on lead until you get past that, then they've got miles to run and play on the sand and in the sea.

Lucky you!
