hi everyone im new to the site, i mated my dog yesterday and they got tyed, my bitch is on heat! Does this mean she is certainly going to get pregnant? ty gemma

yes i want her to have 1 litter its like thats what she needs as she keeps having fantom pregnancys after each season. I was there when they mated and tryed to clam both dogs. my bitch was yelping as if it was hurting and when they both seperated the males manhood was still really big it hadnt gone down while inside my dog. My dog is still bleeding is this the time they can get pregnant? And how will i know if she is having pups? ty

Phantom pregnancies are hormonal.

Dogs do not need to have a litter to stop this. They need spaying.

For your dogs welfare, please just get her spayed. She could have all sorts of complications during pregnancy and could die.

oh really, die?? I have not been told this by my vet they never said she could die. I am going to get her spayed, the male had been trying all weekend to do it but wasnt succsessful untill yesterday and they got tyed but does this mean she will DEF be pregnant? And how will i no if she is preg?

Did your vet advise to get her pregnant? If so i reall honestly would change vet.

But yes, she could. She could develop infections, which can kill her also.

You can get her speyed now whether she is or isnt pregnant. This would save the HUGE amount of money it takes to raise a litter of pups, all the vets fees in checking them, vaccinations, potential operations, Like Akita girl said.
