Gracie 3rd April 2002 - 16th May 2010

I had a call from Joan this evening, she was dreading ringing me with the news that darling Gracie was given sleep on Sunday to prevent suffering.

I saw them about 3 weeks ago and she was her normal bundle of fun, gobbling as many sweeties as she could before the others could have them, even ransacking my handbag to check if there was anything else worth eating, bless her little heart..and the cuddles, she always managed to wriggle her way up onto my lap for the duration of my visits.

She became poorly toward the end of last week, sickness, lethargy and screaming in pain, tests came back inconclusive and she was given morphine incase she had pancreatitis or similar. She got worse on Sunday, bringing up a foul smelling brown liquid and so obviously in pain, a scan at the emergency vet revealed a huge mass in her stomach/rib area so the sad decision was made to send her to the bridge.

Poor Joan knew that she had to let me know but just couldn't bring herself to ring me until this evening. Thankfully they still have Fabey and Tawny to help them through this time but Joan said that she and Steve miss Gracie so much, she was such a bright light in their lives, even though they only had her for just over a year she had made her mark in their hearts, as she did me over the years she lived with me.

Here are a couple of photos of her taken a few weeks ago, she was blissfully happy with her new mum and dad:

Run free at the bridge my darling, I know you knew how much I loved you and everything I did was with you in mind...please give my love to Remy, Tyler and Bailey, if he is also with you all xxxx
