Chicken and rice question

When you have to feed Chicken and Rice for upset tummies for your dogs, do you go and buy a fresh chicken and cook it for them?
Also what sort of Rice do you use?

If I have had to go down that route I have used the cheapest chicken fillets or thighs and strip it off.
Rice Tesco, Sainsburys ordinary white rice or mashed potato. Without the pepper and milk.

I never give chicken and rice for the squits.

If I did, I would cook both fresh and I would use any rice.

My vet currently recommends cooked white fish and mashed potato. We used it recently when Cain had colitis and it worked fine. We used chicken and rice previously and it made him worse so we had to give him just cooked chicken.

Some dogs do well on it, but if Lily gets worse, shift to fish and mash - just microwave the fish and have the mash plain.

Hope she's better soon hon *hugs* xx

Chicken and rice has sorted my two out in the past - very rarely to they have loose stools though.

I buy fresh chicken and just plain white rice.

I've also given chicken and pasta, fish and mash, fish and pasta etc. Sometimes just as a treat.

The cheapest CHICKEN BREASTS> PUDDING RICE is best as it's sticky.

I found white fish & rice OR potatoe very good but pricey.

I've actually found fish to be better than chicken now to settle zeke's tummy, but his tummy is extra sensitive.

Sometimes chicken and rice can make the problem worse, although many dogs seem to recover well on it.

White fish and potato has always worked well for all my dogs in the past.

Whatever you try, make sure that it is always fresh and freshly cooked.
