Old English Mastiff Owners?

Hi all, over the next few months I'm going to be saving/looking at getting a Old English Mastiff puppy, but after reading a Dog Breeds book, it says "This giant canine needs exceptionally experienced handling, if only because of its size."

Now what I need to know is how easy are they to keep? My dad thinks they may be hard...

If I do end up getting one, I'll be looking for a 7-8week old if possible. So I can get and early start on the training and also it'll give the puppy and Zeus *my near 3yr old Boxer x* time to get to know each other, and put any type of aggression between the 2 to a very minimum *hopefully*.

So, all Old English Mastiff owners now and ex-Old English Mastiff owners please tell me how they have been to you.
