I actually wish I could take Alfie out more!! Haha.

(he is a year old now!! (well.. will be in 10 days time ))
At the moment we go for 45mins-1 hour in the park, either on long line or off lead depending how many people are around.
About 2 mins on-lead walking to the park.
And that's it.
He sleeps all morning, we go out for this hour in the afternoon, and then he sleeps all evening

At the weekend we can be out anywhere from 1-2 hours and he is fine - but I do wish I could take him more! Could happily add a morning and evening walk into the mix, but just not sure he would cope! He is a lazy dog really

ETA: - it is not always the park, haha, but up to an hour somewhere local during the week.

No routine here!

If we are both working Toby goes to the dog walker for the day 9-3ish so gets several walks with breaks in between (on and off-lead depending where they go)

If one of us is off he usually gets two walks (plus play/training at home) during the day and I try to make sure he gets at least some time off-lead. He probably gets between 1-2hrs

Couple of hours a day is average with one rest day a week (very short walk) and one much longer hike of around 3/4 hrs (not walking all the time. at least one walk a week is with doggy friends - different ones if poss.

Most are walking at beach/woods/marsh but some sheep herding and training gets thrown in - usually down stay and leave it and send away as the terrain dictates. Recall practised every day without fail which is why its so good

We do either:

60 minutes on lead walking in the morning
Another 30 minutes on lead walking in the late afternoon

or

Two/three hours at a local park, which will include some training, some off leash time in an enclosed tennis court, and as much socialising as possible with other dogs, which is really helping Dexter.

We also have about an hour and a half with a dog trainer, sometimes on a weekly basis, sometimes less often depending on when she's around and how much progress we're making on each stage of the training.

For rewarding on walks try clicker or 'special' toy, the stuffed kong is more for breaking up the day at home and giving them something to 'work on'
Thanks for your response dobermann I am going to check out a local park nearby but not sure how long it takes to get there and back but they have a dog only area fenced off from the rest of the park but will certainly look to vary it.

Thanks for the suggestion on the clicker and 'special' toy for rewards on walks.

I didnt realise the kong was for at home but will certainly get him a one for in the house.

For my lot it varies :

Zane and Yiannis get a 45 minute walk in the monring and evening, as close to 12 hours apart as I can make it. They also get 1 1/2-2 hours in the park where we play games, do some training and they get time free running and playing with doggy pals.

For the girls it's different :

Jenzi gets either 2 x 20-25 minute walks, 12 hours apart every day OR she gets 2 x 15 minute walks 12 hours apart with 30 minutes in the park. I can't risk putting her in any discomfort or pain because of her hips but it crucifies me that she can't have the same amount of time as the boys do. But we're building it up so hopefully one day she'll be able to cope with much more time out and about.

Tashi gets 2 x 30 minute walks 12 hours apart with 2-3 hours in the park. I do more formal training with Tashi and she gets more time off lead doing zoomies at what seems like 100mph. She has far more energy to get rid of than the GSDs and needs as much mental stimulation. she can be a real handful too if I have a bad day with my leg and she only gets an hour in the park for example.

My dogs go out regardless of weather. Zane used to have a problem going out if it was raining but now he doesn't mind it. Yiannis loves being out in the rain and at home will happily go to sleep on the patio in the pouring rain

Obviously sometimes things change - such as in the holidays if Oscar and I go out for the day. But then they get extra walks and traihning when we get back or we play games at home, such as hide and seek. It has been known for me to have to empty one of the kitchen cupboards so Oscar can hide in there. They loving looking for him.

On average my two get approx 2 hours. Now I'm back training Oscar I tend to walk them separately from time to time and it's soooo nice! Isla is such an easy dog to walk compared to Mister Freaky Pants!

Mine get an hour a day. It's enough for them and they're knackered after. 90% of the time they go to the beach and are off-lead so run like crazy for most of the hour.

I aim for an hour morning and night - doesn't always happen that way though!

Generally it pans out (have to adapt around work etc - if I do a full day hubby comes home for lunch to let him out and chuck a ball around the garden for a bit) that I walk him for about 30 mins at 6am (in case I get a work call), if I'm not working or doing a half-day (I try to bag all the half-days I can) then I take him out again for a good hour mooch somewhere more interesting in the middle of the day, then an evening walk of anything from about 40 mins to an hour and a half depending on how much he's had in the middle of the day.

He also insists on "helping" me in the garden etc which generally involves a few laps and then lying there with his legs in the air to scare off any known beasties.

Sunday morning in particular we go for a long leisurely plod somewhere followed by bacon sarnies for the humans... much to the woofbag's disappointment.

No routine here.

Mine live in doggy heaven (or they think they do) as they are in and out all day, especially now that we have the ponies they spend alot of daytime in the fields or walking/sniffing through the woods which are down there.
Plus there is a river running through the bottom so they get in there whenever the fancy takes, especially Skye who loves to cool off.

In some ways having the horses means I can kill two birds with one stone, so my exercise has been cut down....cann't be bad for my old bones

But Pat still takes them out to nature centres or parks as well.
