I think Dobermann breeders do, Syd's breeder definately did.
Can't see the point myself, their whiskers are hardly noticeable.

It is ridiculous. Dogs have whiskers, why on earth chop them off? It's getting like the catwalk .

Dalmatians are completely untrimmed, but in America they shave off whiskers and any whorls in the coat
But there again, they stack them in the ring so several things are different.

Some breeds, Cocker Spaniels being one of them, don't just have their whiskers cut off for cosmetic reasons. I know my dogs grow alot of hair on their faces and it needs to come off, otherwise it gets smelly and can cause lip fold problems . You can't possibily take off this long hair without taking off the whiskers as the hair grows as a long type of moustache on each side of the face. Its more hygenic, in my breed anyway.

Boxers have their whiskers shaved, it gives a clean line around the face, they will also trim uff any unsightly hairs around the tail . bum and down the back legs.....I shaved Millies off , when I showed her, cant say it caused her any problems, infact she loves the clippers around her face and back end. if fact Bandit has to get in on the act aswell, what she has he has to have too.
