I'd look for something bigger.

What height is the 46" crate ?

Not much help (being an american site) but something like these dimensions might be more suitable

OMG that's HUGE!! It would take over a room..pmsl

ME thinks I might just put baby gates up while she is a puppy and keep her in the kitchen..

They are very big puppies, it may be best to set aside a room rather than use a cage. Do take special care not to damage the tail and also take it very carefully with the exercise they can damage legs easily.

They are lovely pups and smashing dogs and if you really intend to use a cage I will ask one of my IW friends what they would suggest but I think 48" would be far too small, my elkhounds have a 38" and they are small compared with a IW.

EDIT to add 34" is not nearly tall enough IMO

Should be OK then if it's just for the puppy stage as your pup could be 34" high at the shoulder when all grown up.

btw i have to admit we didn't use a crate when training our WH - we have done in the past but just decided not to with the WH simply because of the size issues and felt the cage would be used for such a short length of time it was a waste of money but that's just what we did.

Thanks Phil

It would only be for the first few months, so hopefully we should be OK, if not my other 2 can use it to escape from the little monster

My greyhound has a 34" high crate and he's fine but there was once a couple of wolf hound pups that came to ring craft I think they were about 7 months and were bigger than my greyhound
