sick, sick & sick again Bit worried

My wee man (Fingal) is being sick.

(Please remember that this dog has a history of eating all sorts without it upsetting his tummy)

Tonight however it's unusual.

He chucked up what I can only describe as an A4 sized pile of food which was his whole dinner.

Then he chucked up another smaller load containing a fluffy toys leg.

We have no idea what this fluffy toy is but (obviously) was the problem.

2 hrs later - another A4 sized chuck and that that was that.

Now 4 hrs later he's just chucking up bile and looking at me (right now) as if I should help.

Get him to the emergency vets if you can, just to be sure.

Phil,

Has he been to toilet recently? I would be tempted to phone the vet tonight especially if his vomit is brown rather than yellowish bile in case there is some sort of obstruction.

Does his sick smell like sick or (disgusting subject) or like faeces? If so ring the vet

Hopefully is just a dodgy tum and nothing serious

Take care

He's crapped today a few times as normal so that's ok

As for the sick - just smells 'foody'

He eat's so much dead stuff (4 cats and all) so it's hard to tell but something aint right.

Hey, Sorry about Fingal Im a slow typer but Im typing all of this out of a book I bought 2 days ago as fast as i can!
Its called "The Dogs Drugstore:A Dog Owners Guide to Non-Prescription Drugs and Their Safe Use In Veterinary Home-Care."

The treatment of occasional vomiting caused by consumption of undesirable objects is simply to withhold food for 4-6 hours and allow the digestive system to eliminate the indigestible material.
An Important diagnostic factor in determining the cause of vomiting is the time it occurs in relation to the time the dog has eaten. Dogs occasionally vomit a small amount of yellow or white foam when there are no more objects in the abdominal cavity.

Vomiting caused by foreign bodies in the gastrointestinal tract:
Complete or partial blocking of the gastrointestinal tract will cause vomiting and signs of pain. Foreign bodies that do not create blockage may also cause the same signs. Accurate diagnosis can only be made by an xray by your veterinarian.

Drugs to treat vomiting that are safe for dogs over the counter:
Chemical Name:Phosphorated Carbohydrate
Brand Name: EMETROL (Liquid)
50lb and over 2 tsp. every 2 hours as needed.
under 50lb 1 tsp. every 2 hours as needed.
-------------------------------------------------------

I HOPE THIS HELPED, IF YOU NEED ANYTHING ELSE OR WOULD LIKE ME TO TYPE MORE, LET ME KNOW, IM GLAD TO DO IT FOR YOU & FINGAL.

That's so kind....thanks for doing all that.

I know my dogs and it's not un-heard of for fingal to chuck up after eating a 'blocker' whether it's a pile of food or a stolen 'goody'

This is strange though as he's not himslef and he's now limp and 'sad type' sick.
