There's a proper word for this isn't there? And it's not unusual in the animal world at all by all accounts.

Having said that I am VERY glad my dog doesn't do this! I don't even like her sniffing poo when we are out!
Coprophagia, not that that makes it any better
Pepsi is the first dog that I have ever had to do it.

Perfect word for a habit we find disgusting if you ask me! Sounds like something out of a horror movie.

almost relieved to see its quite common ... my girl started doing it about 6 months ago - no change in diet,home-life etc so absolutely no idea why she's started doing it? .. she's also usually very good at " dropping " what she's not meant to have but when it comes to poo - hers or anything elses - she refuses to part with it - & thats one thing i refuse to put my fingers in her mouth for! eugh!!

Pereg only eats her own, and only when she finds a nice crunchy sun-dried bit. As she is raw-fed her poos are small and not pongy, and although her "wet" meal vegetables are lightly steamed, her evening snacks [mainly cucumber, sweet peppers and kohlrabi] are raw, so probably mostly go straight through her - so she just recycles it!

Her breath does not smell therefore it does not bother me.

aha, Coprophagia is that called!
I learnt another new word to me in English!

just happy that mine isn't doing that really

I mean dog poo, cat poo...
...or even human poo!!! I sometimes see one when I'm away at work!

but actually what she doesn't mind, is rabbit poo, or poo of deers

but I already "studied" that and however it seems to be disgusting to us, that not once it's that bad for dogs eating it

as of that they get the minerals they might be missing?

by all of that Idea of feeding raw...
no Fox would get into your garden for to rob a cucumber, for to dig out a carrot, or to steal a broccoli etc...
no wolf would do that either

they are only going for chicken or sheeps there...
okay, wolves rather for sheeps

so there they will get their needs by eating their offal?
but that stuff that they ate/eat, already went through a progress of digestion, what might will be important to them, for to get out the right "prepared" stuff they really need?

however, I drifted away

poo of carnivores is just too disgusting to me
but it's not that bad of herbivores to me
(does not include pig/chicken poo, vegetarian, nor vegan poo, as they are naturally omnivores)
