New addition...

Hi everyone, we have decided to give a home to a 3 year old Dalmatian and would like to know if anyone has any advice for first timers?
We already have an old BC cross (14) and a 14 week old BC pup. We are hoping they will all get on together ok. but are going to introduce them gradually and have a couple of weeks trial before giving him a forever home.

Well done you for taking on a rescue! You will be busy for a while. You will need to make sure your older dog does not feel too left out.

Hi,

Well done for rescuing.

It sounds as though it's gonna be fun in your house once you bring him home. You may want to consider crate training for him. As a young dog, he may need times when he can't play with your older dog. At the same time he may need his own space away from your pup.

Lottie on here has dallies. I'm sure she could advise you on anything breed specific.

We will be crate training him as both our pup and older dog are now crate trained. They are only in their crates if we're out tho and sleep on the floor in the bedroom, though if they jump on the bed i dont mind them sleeping there!
As we've just moved home we wont be giving him a home for a couple of weeks but he's coming over tomorrow to meet the other two
atm he belongs to a friend of the family but they are unable to look after him now as their other Dallie has become aggressive and is being left home along for 12 hours a day. We've met him a couple times before and know he has a good temperament. Can't wait for him to join us x
