Camping In Devon......

Help Please ....

OH, me, kids , mum and of course our SBT Jimmy are all off camping on our caravan at the end of July. :smt041

We usually go to Cornwall but fancy a change.

We are thinking of going to Lady's Mile Camp site in Dawlish and wondered if any of you have ever been there - or know of any other good camping sites in Devon.

Must be dog friendly have something for the kids - they are 8 and 7 -(and 9 months ) and obviously have a pub/club on site or near by.

Thanks for your help..........

Sorry Pat, I'm not sure of any camp sites there.
However just wanted to say that we stayed in Chagford (holiday cottage) which is on Dartmoor and had a wonderful time, just watch out if Jimmy is anything like our Louie he might be keener on the sheep than they are on him

Paignton was very nice & had a stretch of beach that dogs were allowed on for a free run all year round.
And there were plenty of pubs in Torquay, Teignmouth & Plymouth

Lady's Mile is a lovely campsite very close to Dawlish Warren, I stayed there some years ago on holiday and not far away from where I live now.

It is however very busy and might be a bit of a pain with a dog, the Warren does not cater well for dogs and walking can be limited, however the beaches further up towards the estuary have dogs allowed but be wary of the tides!!

I would suggest possibly

Plenty for the kids to do, good access to the moors and in easy striking distance to the coastal resorts, masses of walks and the Market town of Ashburton close by. Short hop down the A38 to Trago mills which has kids stuff there, plus a whole lot more peaceful than Ladys Mile.

Thanks Paul......

Looks really good site but sadly just phoned them and they have no places available for that week.

So we are still on the lookout for a good site....

If anyone knows of anymore, please let me know.

Thanks .....
