Hi the only hand puppet I remember is Sooty,but when I went to see the exhibition of Spitting Image,the puppiteer was underneath operating the puppet with something inside the puppet,the puppiteer would be standing and operating the puppet,it wasnt strings,some other mechanism,but my favourite puppet of all was spot the dog from the woodentops,and if you watch how it moved and you have a dalmation which we did have,it was spot on.crystalgirl
