Advice on dogs eyes needed

i have a 3 year old bull mastiff, i only rescued him about 4 weeks ago, and don't no a great deal about his past over the last week with the weather changing alot he seems to have been suffering with hayfever as eyes have be getting very gloopy, been cleaning them on a daily basis twice a day, but it doesn't seem to be clearing. His eye is very swollen, he keeps rubbing it alot on furniture and anything he gets the chance to, also noticed today that when he finally opens it he now has a cloudy bluey shadow across his eye, still cleaning and washing eye out, but does anyone have any advice to give

Can't get you in until end of the week. That's about as bad as getting a doctors appointment. Are there no other vets near you that you can try. I can always get an appointment same or next day at my vets if necessary.

You could try insisting that as he's had it for a week you want an earlier appointment?

yeah going to ring them again in the morning and see if i get anywhere with them, or will try and take my business elsewhere, just when you are registered with a vets, other vets round here don't like seeing you.

sounds a hell of a lot like conjunctivitis sicca. I'd say get to a vet asap. Vets saw us today strait away with 20 mins notice even though we are registered elsewhere!

Eyes are a very delicate and sensitive part of the body. If a dog of mine had those symptoms I'd be taking it to the vet as an urgent or emergency visit.
