FYI/Warning Berks/Oxon
have recieved the following from the Reading Dog Warden:
Hi XXXX
A man in Tilehurst, Reading has today contacted us claiming that two men in a small white van visited and entered his property yesterday posing as environmental health/police officers (none of our health officers have visited neither have the R.S.P.C.A). They claimed they were investigating a nuisance complaint about dogs and had the legal right to enter his house.
One man was wearing a black bomber jacket and jeans and the other dark coloured slacks (description not that good). I believe they may also have been taking photo's of his neighbours dogs, pedigree Labrador/Retrievers.
The man has reported the matter to the police as he is concerned for the safety of his family. The owner of the dogs is also concerned for her dogs when left unattended at the property.
This is very strange, as I do not think anything was taken, but wonder if they intend to steal the dogs.
Yesterday TV featured 'Roxy' Staffie x (registered doglost 31/1/200
stolen from garden in Abingdon Road, Oxford on 30 Jan. Think she was seen being put into a white van (possible orange markings/windows).
