Yep good news my old neighbour had two massive Chow Chows a black and a dark red, to put it nicely I remember they were very aloof lol. Very good guards though and very loyal.

I met a red chow recently and I noticed that it was relativley small to my neighbours old dogs, I wonder are there two different standards or have they been bred down over the years? Its just my neighbours dogs going back about 15 years now were very big stocky dogs (under all that mane ) The one I met at the Falkirk Wheel recently was much much smaller probably around Cassys height or possibly smaller? Maybe they were just big dogs who knows?
