I was also wondering if you had a Community Respiratory Nurse you could speak to? Our COPD patients often go home with Resp Nurse follow up just to make sure they're coping, COPD can be stressful enough for the patient let alone any carers! Also we have a community service run by Red Cross called Home From Hospital who can help with chores, shopping and the like in the first 6 weeks post d/c. It might be worth giving your GP a ring to see if there's anything available as you really don't want to neglect yourself and make yourself ill too in the process.

Positive vibes winging their way for your sister and also for you and your mum to help you cope with both the caring of your sister and the huge emotional strain that you must all be under.
