wee-ing in the house

Murph has started wee-ing in the house - Now I expected a few wees because of Macey -but Macey has cracked the housetraining really well -she still has a couple of excitment piddles when we come in but thats all
but Murph has cocked his leg in the bathroom -at the bottom of the stairs -in the kitchen and ON MY BED
each time he's got a good rollocking -( have I done right ?? or is it one of these ignory situations ? )
He covers her wee's when we are out but I didn't think he would do it in the house -do you think it will stop now she doesn't do it in the house ??
( the kitchen smelt like the mens toilets in the Grafton )
We've had all the carpets downstairs ripped up so theres no lingering smell
Reassure me please lol

Think as your bitch starts to reach maturity the dog is making sure she & the den is marked out as his.

Think if you can catch him at it the biggest explosion of rage that you can muster (and don't forgive for several hours) may help remind him it is your house and your bitch and it is your business to protect them not his. You are wasting your time if you don't catch him in the act as he is as likely to think you are cross about something else and if you point to the wet he has left he may think you want him to do a more thorough job next time.

I've caught him twice and No1 son caught him once

I'll keep up with the 'explosions of rage' then

I agree with Thordell - no point in making a fuss unless you catch him in mid-stream, then you let him know, in no uncertain terms, that his marking is unacceptable. Not sure that it is necessary to keep up hostilities for 'several hours' though.

by shouting when we saw him and also sending him off into the crate when we saw him... the hardest part was actually catching him at it becasue he did it mostly when we werent in - so we wondered if it was a territorial/ marking thing with Libby being there and with us being out. He never did it before Libs arrival.

Anyway we have now bought another crate as Gus used to have free roam when we were out. Now he doesnt

It is individual to each dog, think you can tell when they realise that they have overstepped the mark and had better bow to your authority, think my breed being very determined and full of their own importance have clouded my view of dogs in general, so I would amend my few hours to until your particular dog is prepared to grovel.

Edited to say: it is not necessary to be physical with your discipline, think yourself top dog and make a lot of aggressive noise, that is usually enough.
