Unwanted Phone Calls

How is it that Im x directory & STILL getting phone calls for new kitchens, bathrooms, windows & surveys etc

So do I but the minute they start speaking about windows etc I tell them "it's a new house"!

and if they are offering me cheaper gas/elec/tel bills I tell them I'm not interested as my ex husband has to pay the bills

Not true but makes me laugh at their stunned silence

Register with the TPS - telephone preference service - it stops all the nuisance calls - think it takes about 28 days but it does work - I never get those sort of calls now thank goodness - and its free too.

Regardless of your telephone provider (BT/cable)-ask them to put a block on your line which will stop witheld numbers being connected (cold callers always withold theirs).I have it on mine and says when you ring,but witholding number-"the person you are ringing does not accept annoymonous phone calls-please hang up and redial without witholding number"-which they never do.

I use NTL and all you do is input a number into your phone.An automated voice tells you if its successful and they dont charge a penny! BT charge a small fee though...

I might get a cold caller perhaps once a year!
