Eye testing

From day one of having my staffs, it's important to me that they are eye tested. I've do found a vet that does the test, she is about 50miles away, but will she be registered do you think? i want the certificates after the test and not sure if she issues them, was told if she might have to be a KC registered Vet to issue they. Is this right?

Saz, KC/BVA eye testing can only be performed by one of an official panel of vets. You could try ringing the Secretary of your nearest Stafford breed club, and asking when the next session is.

Often the sessions are held after breed shows or organised seperately and advertised in advance. You will get a certificate, and they ask you to bring your dogs KC registration certificate to the testing session so it can be stamped. Dogs that are not KC registered can still have their eyes tested and you be told the result but a certificate is not issued under these cicumstances.

Hope that helps.

I'll look out my list of panelist names and addresses and post again this evening. I'm in a rush for work at the mo.

See you later Saz.
