Speying

Just a quick question on speying..it confuses me!

My vets advised to me get Teagan speyed 2 months after her first season.

Now...is that 2 months after it started, or 2 months after it finished?

Sorry if I sound a bit thick!
She started bleeding on 26th October, and finished bleeding on 9th November (2004).

Thanks

I think its two months after the season stopped, but I dont think its an exact science. I think the vets say two months to be conservative.

Our vet said 2 to 3 months after season so I just took it to mean after the season finished

We're not sure whether to get Hippo castrated or not. Whats your views? Our vet recommended castration at 6 months and onwards, dog trainer and her vet say 9 to 10 months of age. What do you guys think? : xx

I have no idea on the age for dogs as my dog is too old to get castrated according to my vet and my dog trainer.

We got Duncan at 6 months but we just waited for him to settle in with us first and had his furniture rearranged when he was 9 months but he could have been done earlier.

Im sooo confused! I was to wait until 9 to 10 months so that the dog had done a lot of his growing as castrating too early would not allow him to grow properly!

It seems to depend on the vets in the area as to what age they will do it. So it's probably best just to ask the vet.
