turnout rug & neck cover?

hi, in similar vein to my other question, I've actually been thinking about a lot of things to do with my horse recently and does anyone know if I need a neck cover with a turn out rug?

It's not always needed, we've got one on our cob, because he is fully clipped just now and it does stop mud getting on the horses neck and mane. If your horse feels the cold, then it might be worth getting a neck cover.

Hope this helps a bit!

Depends entirely on the horse!
If it's a bad doer likely to drop weight in the winter(TBs, WB's etc) then it would be a good idea if it's a cob etc prob won't need it

Depends on the horse, what type he/she is , whether clipped and how long it will be out in the field for.

I love the rambos with the over the wither neckline as it is not quite a neck rug or hood, but offers a bit more than the usual turnout.......

As mentioned above, this depends on how your horse is in the colder weather etc. You can buy rugs that have detachable hoods / neck covers. If you go for a rug with this option you then have the choice to put it on or take it off if the weather’s a bit warmer.
