Thanks, found that really interesting and i will discuss with my OH and get him to start doing it from tomorrow and we can carry on from there.

Just as an aside, do be wary of leaving the collar on whilst the pup is in his crate, as on rare occasions dogs/pups have hanged themselves on bits sticking out. An aquaintance of mine had an adult dog who recently got his collar tag caught as he was standing up and he was stuck, luckily he was fine.
