Our Throw Away Babies

Hi I'm Jo,
My husband Bruce & I are new to this site.
We have our throw away dogs, people didnt want our poor babies. So we took them, we have had "The Blonde" now for about 5-1/2 years , she is a gold coloured German Shepherd and we got her at 18months old, through Shepherd Rescue, she was very scittish when we got her, but years later she has calmed down a lot, the vet says she is highly strung, sadly she is very wary of strangers and looks to us constantly for approval and I think security, she is a darling 99.9% of the time & the hound from hell .1% of the time. Our other dog, is a black staffy/lab we found him wandering at 4weeks old, we kept returning him to the house he came from over that 4day period, armed with food and water, as there was nothing there for him to eat or drink out of, over the long weekend. While we were staying with family, when he wandered again near the road where our car was parked while we were getting ready for the return trip home, we just put him in the car with us, went home & took him to our vet, he said we did the right thing as the puppy was very sick & was shaking non stop, because of a lack of calcium & wouldn't have survived, now 4years later he is a healthy happy relaxed loveable dog, our friend & dog sitter that had stayed with Blondie while we were away, got completely forgotten when we arrived home with the puppy. The Blonde greeted him like he was her own puppy and they are to this day, inseperable, so much so that if they are apart they will often cry or whine for one another, so if one goes to the vet for a check up etc, both have to go in and be with the vet. that's right, we decided a long time ago that this made our life easier, yep, anything for the quiet life.
