yep, indie is allowed on the sofas and the bed. which is funny when my parents come round cos they constantly tell her to get off cos they dont think shes allowed

i dont see a problem with allowing dogs on the furniture unless u really detest it or if there becomes a behavioural problem because of it. personally never had any problems.

indie sleeps in the bed with us at night

I suppose the ideal solution if you want to have dogs on sofas is to train them to get off when requested to do so ....and get a Schnauzer then you won't have any dog hairs .

Amy used to have a cover and would only get up when the cover was on..now she can't jump that high and prefers the comfort and security of her bed anway ..

no to both but the boxers used to join us now and again but they was trained to get off or move when told, would never allow it with the leo's it is some thing that they have never had.
its just not practical with big dogs plus stairs wont do them any good.
so answer is used to but not anymore.

our old boys used to sleep upstairs pre son...infact one would get inbetween me and OH UNDER the duvet when it was cold!!!!!!
Now they don't get to go upstairs and aren't allowed on the sofas....well, not with me anyhow, the BC apparently jumps onto the sofa as soon as I go to bed!!!!!!!!!! OH doesn't care...he's on the comfy one!!!!!!
It's not a hair thing or anything, just when we had our son as a babe, we didn't want the dogs up on the sofa and squashing him!!!! So when I was pregnant stopped them. They don't seem too bothered....happy on their beds!!!!
Do miss them upstairs though and when OH is on nights I mayyyyyyy accidentally leave the stair gate the teensiest bit open...BC's are sooo clever........!!!!!!!!!

I don't let the dog or cats in the bedroom, the cats are allowed on the sofa but the dog isn't unless we invite her up for a cuddle.

My house just wouldn't feel like a home if dogs were banished from all the bits I like to sit in! I'd be miserable if I couldn't cuddle up to my dog in comfort. If dogs were banned from the sofa and bed I'd just have to start sitting and sleeping on the floor with them!
