Ice Cubes...

Heya,

I give my puppy Jess ice cubes as a treat and to play with as she is teething and it seems to ease her pain a little.

She loves them aot and gets excited when I go into the freezer, she knows the ice cube shelf now and prods it with her nose, a not so subtle hint for me... lol

My first questions is, is it ok to give her ice cubes in winter?

We have the Heating on most of the time, as I need warmth as cold aggrivates my medical condition, so I wouldnt see this as a real problem...

Also, should I have a limit on how many I give her per day?

As someone said to me, too many of them will give her a poorly tummy...

But she dosent swallow them whole, she licks them, bats them about on the floor, and holds them in her mouth for a few seconds before batting them over the floor again...

Cheers guys

My two love icecubes... they play around with em for a while then crunch em up. I see no reason why not to give em... apart from the little puddle on the kitchen floor

How many (roughly) does she have a day? As long as she isn't eating them too fast, and she'd not having silly amounts she'll be fine. I always gave mine them when teething too.

I give them to Ollie when his teeth hurt him,he loves them.
I find they are a distraction for him he leaves us alone for a while.

I usually only give her a couple, 3 is the max really.

I would give her a couple more but I dont want to give her an upset tummy.

Len loves them too - great toy to send skidding across the kitchen floor, and if he's lucky enough he may see mum almost go ar*e over t*t in the wet.....
