Glad he seems better. Another here who doesn't feed pigs ears any more, nearly lost Katie dog when she swallowed a large piece and it didn't pass through. Operation to sort it out and she was poorly for well over a week. Lesson learned there we thought.

I bought some huge pig's ears when staying with my sis and her Staffy last year. They weren't keen for Munchie to have any because he is such a rapid demolisher of food (and toys) whereas Bella will gnaw away at something like that for hours and hardly dent the edges.

However, having hung the remainder of them in a bag on a hook in their conservatory (well out of reach of Munchie the Staffy) and then walking back in to the STINK permeating the whole conservatory where they'd been hanging up - oh yuk. Never again. Did make me wonder what it does to the dog breath and other associated functions!

There was one pigs ear left in the cupboard......it's just gone in the bin!
I can't believe I was so stupid to thing ears would be any different to the rawhide chews we had trouble with all those years ago.
From now on they can have tripe sticks and the occasional hoof and that's it!

On the good news front.....Jack has been!

Well I didn't think I'd be back posting on this thread again, but one week on, I was up half the night with Jack again.
Same as last time, he sicked up his tea undigested and then was sick twice again within the hour.
Sorry this is gross, but there were a couple of odd bits in it and then it dawned on me it was bits of dried tripe stick. I could tell from the 'nobbly' texture.

Now I'm back to thinking Jack maybe does have a "floating obstruction" in his stomach .....the pigs ear from last week?

I've never heard of this before but I suppose a piece could be stuck but moving in his tum and if it blocked the exit from the stomach it would cause the vomiting wouldn't it?

I've still got some Antepsin and Zantac so he's having that. Not sure whether I should take him back to vets tomorrow or see how he goes?
I presume the next step would be X-ray/scan or maybe endoscopy?
Poor ol' Jack......he's looking for his food but there'll be nothing for him tonight.
