A Moorland Mooch (GSDs & BC)

Had a lovely hill walk this morning while Ben was in nursery. It started off a bit grey, then the sun came out, but it had gone again by the time we finished our walk, and it has got cold again this afternoon.

The poser

Looking wintry

Poor old Ripster looks knackered already (and we hadn't long set off!). Think his long/hard walk days may be coming to an end

Hiding in the heather

Handsome Bear

Handsome Wolf

Mayshiel

Zak

Tracking something (turned out to be a mountain hare, already turning white)

Wild and bleak country

Investigating the grouse butt

It needs a closer inspection!

Thanks for looking!

Lovely pics there Kirsty, your scenery never ceases to wow me, not to mention your dogs of course, and bless dear Ripsey there, you're gonna have to leave him behind with dear old Flame on these longer walks now aren't you.

Lots of hills, and I suppose you stick to those tracks coz they look a bit clumpy underfoot which would make for heavy going with all that climbing too! Hey ho, it'll soon all be white and you can get out the ski's!!!!! Even better, get yourself a snowmobile hey? I can't believe you haven't already thought of that

Fab pics as always. I must get some autumnal shots of my beautiful woodland that's a feast for the eyes at the moment with all the orange leaf fall.

Thanks H, glad you enjoyed the pics.

I do sometimes leave Rip home with dear old Flamey when I go on longer or more strenuous walks, but he was really keen to come today so I didn't want to say no. He plodded around behind me, but didn't really look to enjoy much of it.

The track up is the stony one, but once we get to the top it is soft springy, landrover tracks through the grass and heather, so a bit kinder to the dogs paws.

Haha - you clearly don't remember that we have ...
