About the paddling pools, I was gonna get one but my dad made the very good point of, 'what are we supposed to do with the water out of it afterwards?'

What do you do with it?

Same as you do when you have a paddling pool for the kids!!
Leave it in, if the weather is still nice. Water plants, pour down drain etc

ah, you see we have nowhere to pour it, so we'd end up just flooding the garden! That's why we're sticking to hoses and water pistols!
