New Girl

Our lovely boy Max is almost blind now. It is heartbreaking as he is only 8 and used to love playing ball. Now he still wants to play but cannot see the ball. We thought it would be a good idea to get him a sister to help him around so we adopted a 5 year old girl, chocolate lab like Max, called Millie. She is adorable. She was a bit apprehensive of Max at first as he kept bumping into her and she thought he was a bully but he couldn't see her, bless him. They have got used to each other now - he doesn't bump into her quite so much. They walk together on a link chain perfectly. I do not know why Millie was put up for rehoming. We have had her 4 weeks this weekend and there is nothing about her that would give reason to give her up. We love her so much and I hope she loves us too.

I' m guessing Max already has a place in my heart as my girl Lacey is almost totally blind too.Doesn't bump into things too much but can trip up sometimes Amazing how well they manage isn't it?

It's fab that Millie has settled in so well and so soon. It's lovely how animals adapt to the needs of others. I love Labradors, would love to see some photos of your two.

Max tends to fall up/down curbs - I now tell him to step up/down which amazingly he does! He bumps into lamp posts and trees if I don't tell him to watch out. He now steps up/down curbs when Millie does so she has already started to help him. I am not very good with posting pictures but hope you will be able to get them from this below. If not I will have to have lessons from my hubby. Mollie is the one in the red collar. Here goes, fingers crossed:

I do the "up" and " down kerbs to with Lacey.Hasn't bumped into a lamp post yet though!!
