Chicken Carcasses..

How many do you give your dog in one meal?

Louie gets 2 and a half and Sadie gets two (well a guess of two because when I get the bag they are so squished, you don't know whats what )

Is that too much? They've never struggled to eat it all before...

But how many do you give yours?

I would say yes, it's too much.

Flynn gets 2, the collies get 1 but by rights, 1 is too much for the collies. I cant be bothered chopping them up though so the collies get very little for their next meal.

We had this conversation on here before cos I was well confused that some people claimed to be feeding 5 or 6 and the ones I was getting at the time weighed about 950 g each, so just under a kilo. These days the ones I get are about 400 grms but I still only feed one to the big uns and make up the difference with the likes of mince, chunks or tripe etc. I don't guess, I weigh my guessing is total rubbish.

Depends on the size too. Mine get one each but they're a fair size, they weigh about 1lb or so minimum. I get the odd smaller one in the box which I save for my mum's pup as she's smaller, otherwise she gets half of a larger one.

I feed 2 for few days then feed 1. Xander always gets 2 as he is still only eighteen weeks old, so needs the extra

They get the carcases in the morning and get mince in the evening.

I do look at them all and "do it by eye"....if they are looking a little overweight, I cut them right down, if looking a little underweight I would boost the food, but have to say I have never had to do that as they all look really well!!

Anyone got any pictures of these? Would love to buy some for Cookie, he's had a supermarket chicken before, but that lasted over a day...

The chicken carcasses Jake gets are teeny to the size that some of you have I get his from a supplier and they usually weigh between 250 - 300g, sometimes closer to 200g. He will sometimes get two in a day, and usually he gets them individually in separate meals but on occasion I have just given him the two at the one time.

I think it depends on the size of the carcass.
