New Puppy owner

I am the proud owner of a 6 week old lhasa apso shih zu mix named Lexie. If anyone has any advice for m for the training process that would be wonderful.

Welcome to the Forum, good luck with the training, enjoy your new puppy.

Sorry, don't know what happened but must be better to have two welcomes than none at all

Hi Lexie welcome to Dogsey and congratulations on your puppy.

6 weeks is a very young age for a puppy to leave its dam and siblings (unless there is some problem with the dam) and your puppy will have missed out on valuable socializing and puppy etiquette 'training' within the safe confines of the litter.
Missing out this stage can result in your puppy being fearful of or aggressive to other dogs, to make up for this I would find a good APDT run puppy class in your area and sign up to attend ASAP after your puppy has had its second vaccination and can be safely taken out.
This will enable your puppy to learn to interact with other dogs while it is still small and should help to prevent problems later on.

Here is a link to a list of APDT trainers..
