Your 'must haves' when shopping for your puppy

Hi guys.... the time is slowly drawing near to us getting our GSD (well we hope) and we're going to be shopping for him soon. After a conversation with a dogwebber this morning it provoked this question to be asked.

What must you absolutely buy for your puppy and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to anyone? - (whether it be a particular toy or treat or something to help you train your puppy, etc)....

Really looking forward to your responses on this one

Thanks again for your help.

Yep a Kong, training lead and vet bed. Can't go wrong with vet bed, it washes like a rag.

Does anyone use dog toothpaste and if you do any recommendations?

Thanks

I just have a rubber brush for my 2 but they are shorthaired. We also use logic gel on Star's teeth. Finn's teeth are half through at the moment so will be starting him soon.

A crate is another good buy if you will be using one (even if its just to be used as a bed)

Thanks Carole, will check them out. Yes definitely getting a crate for his den - house is open planned so he can get into too much trouble when we are sleeping

A kong, perhaps another Kong and what the hell-a 3rd Kong!

Two bowls,
Collar & lead,
Grooming brush (start them off early),
Nylabones (for teething pups),
Dog tag,
Kitchen roll for any 'accidents',
Disinfectant for cleaning floor (dont use bleach as it contains ammonia like urine and may encourage them to go there again!),
A cardboard box to use as a bed (can throw away if soiled),
Blankets for bedding,
Some smelly doggie treats for training,
Squeeky toys.
