Dog Rental company coming to London (threads merged @ post 31 and 40)

An American company called Flex-Pets is opening in London soon.

You pay to become a member and then you can 'rent' a dog from them from a few hours to a few days.

"FLEXPETZ is a unique concept for dog lovers who are unable to own a full-time doggy pal, but miss spending time with a canine friend."

Here is their website...

Good idea or bad idea? What do you all think?

I think this has been posted before. In my opinion it's a terrible idea, those poor dogs are never going to know whether they are coming or going.
Just another way of making money from dogs without thinking of the actual animals themselves

This story has been posted on here before and got a huge response.
I think it's disgusting personally. Dogs should be respected not treated as a business in any shape or form.
If you want to walk a dog, volunteer at a rescue shelter.

Just another example of "fast food, disposable society" imo-heaven forbid that anyone should actually be inconvenienced or have to do a bit of work by bringing a dog into their family

I do understand that all dog lovers can't have a dog full time (been there) but this is not the answer These poor dogs-I am not fooled for a minute by all that c**p about them being "rescued" and "having a primary carer and never kennelled"

Why can't people volunteer at their local rescue if they want a doggie fix-costs a lot less too

I don't like it either. How many people will want younger dogs to be their "Part time companion" rather than a dog getting on in years? Young dogs especially need consistent training and boundaries, and being shunted from place to place, they will never achieve this.
I agree - another way of making money out of animals without considering the consequences. If you don't have time or room for a dog in your family, then volunteer to dog-walk for the elderly or assist a local rehoming centre.
