Do bones have many calories?

I thought I had done a lot of research on raw feeding but I am not sure if I should reduce mealtime portions and by how much if I am feeding raw bones as an extra. I am not worried about by gsd as she is slim but I am thinking little benji (springer spaniel) is possibly getting a little chubby.

Edible bone isn't really an "extra" in a raw fed dog's diet, but an essential part of it.

I feel a prey model diet to my three and edible bone makes up between 10 - 15% of their overall diet. Some meals are bonier than others, the balance is gained over time.

Raw fed dogs usually are fed 2-3% of their ideal body weight daily. Work this out for your dog and see how it compares to what you are currently feeding; including all those little extras we are all guilty of giving them now and again. It all adds up.

There are no calories in raw bone except if they also contain marrow, blood and other proteins.

Thanks for that, I'm glad i don't have to deprive them of their bones. They love them so much and gives me a bit of peace too x
