Country File

Did anyone see Country File last night, with the sled dogs?

I think Mo was a sled dog in a previous life She sat up absolutely transfixed at them running and her ears pricked each time the presenter called the command for them to run (can't remember it sorry )
Normally she never takes any notice of the TV or animals on it.
I watched her more than the programme

Ours sat on the sofa watching it with a "been there, done that" expression on their faces - except for the three pups who haven't been in harness yet. They thought it was very exciting television and yelped at the screen!!

I'm surprised it was quite noisy!

I can just imagine them Certainly a good programme for dogs.

Lol, this is the dog that rarely shows interest in anything (unless it suites her ) She was sat bolt upright on the settee with her bat ears perked up, just occasionally glacing at me as if to say "Mum I want a go!" When it was over she laid down and went back to sleep

Huskies tend to be noisy while they are waiting to run. This becomes a crescendo of screaming when they are harnessed. Then the countdown 5:4:3:2:1: Gooooooo! and then surprisingly -silence! They run completely silently apart from their gently padding feet and the sound of their breathing. When you are out in the forest on your own first thing in the morning, the silence can be quite eerie.
Not all sled dog breeds are like this though - Samoyeds will happily yap their way through the whole journey!
