Kingfisher!

Yay - just back from a good walk around the river with Dinah. As well as the usual ducks, swans, moorhens and coots, I saw a kingfisher . Not just saw, I had a good look at it, and saw it fly twice! They're usually so quick they're gone before you realise it.
That's me happy for the day!

you should have taken a pic ?? not often you get a good close up of one

they are lovely little birds ,there are some that live near my house as there is a river that comes right past here
I took a picture of one a few weeks ago ,I'll post it in the piccy section

Wish you'd had your camera with you DinahM, I would like to have seen that. Was it the bright turqoise one or the other one?

It's as much as I can do to focus my eyes on the speed of a kingfisher - couldn't cope with a camera as well .....
