My first dog was a rehome from the local paper. Since then I`ve only had one from a breeder, and she was a very difficult dog. I`m not keen on puppies so an older dog is ideal for me.
Have 4 rescues now.

Oh I see! Very interesting - I've just been looking at the website.

All mine are rescues.

Becka (Border Collie) from a rescue center 14 years ago.
Abbie (Bearded Collie x) now passed on but came from a rescue center.
Sam (Bearded Collie cross x Retriever), Abbie had 7 pups a few weeks after coming home, the rest found homes but Sam stayed with us.
Cooper (Dalmatian) from a rescue a few months ago, he was 9 weeks old.

I would go for another rescue if there was one that suited my requirements, but some of the breeds I have been looking at don't have that many rescues so I would consider a breeder, but I would prefer a rescue.

Ben & Max weren't rescued. They were supposedly an accidental meeting between the parents, who we were able to see, but Ben was very skinny and they were both riddled with fleas. I didn't feel totally happy with the situation but I felt even less happy about leaving them there and I knew I wanted them and was just relieved to get them out of a bad situation.
Our previous dog was rescued. She was a gorgeous jrt x and lived until 18!!!

I've got 1 dog - he's an ex-racing Greyhound, he's been here since end of May this year. Wouldn't swap him and will probably have more greys in the future, so much easier than a pup!

Nope, we had no idea. She refused to move one day on a walk, took her to the vets who said she was pregnant and would be due in a week or so, the next day she had 7 pups!

Oh! I bet that was a surprise!?! Did the rescue organisation (that she came from) provide support??
